ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE

Aluminum hydroxide is commonly used as a flame-retardant filler in plastics, rubber, and electrical insulation materials. When exposed to heat, it releases water molecules which help reduce flame spread and smoke formation. Because of this property, it is considered an environmentally friendly fire-retardant material. Aluminum hydroxide is also used as a raw material in the production of alumina, which is further processed to produce aluminum metal and various ceramic products.
